RamWeb® is a web based information system for the management of the cardiology. Unifying all administrative and clinical procedures in a single interface, RamWebâ becomes the essential system for collecting and distributing information concerning data, images and materials. As web platform (ASP.NET) application and data can safely be accessed from LAN or WAN, enable hospital of real time sharing of clinical or administrative information.

Thanks to XML communication standards, RamWebâ connects to all modalities, supporting systems interoperability and avoiding data duplication. Any procedure can be exhaustively documented and statistically analyzed for complete scientific or organizational data extraction and cost-saving optimization.

Emilia-Romagna, an Italian region with 4 million residents, launched a Web-based registry named Registro Regionale Angioplastiche (REAL). Twelve public and private centers of interventional cardiology were asked to prospectively enter clinical and angiographic data of all procedures performed in the region. The REAL was launched on July 1, 2002 and is currently ongoing. Every year almost 6000 patients are included in the PCI registry, covering 95% of all interventions in the region.

Outcome Survey on Coronary Angioplasty, that aims at monitoring twelve months results for quality evaluation, promoted jontly by GISE (Italian Group for Interventional Cardiology) and Istituto Superiore di Sanità, a ministerial body organization.

The national survey is full managed by AltaVia that collect data from 110 Italian hospitals using XML standards and RamWebâ platform.

The project is currently ongoing and 16.500 procedures have been collected up to now.

A nationwide trial of the Italian Federation of Cardiology (FIC) promoted by the Italian Society of Interventional Cardiology (SICI-GISE)
The Italian Elderly-ACS study is a multicenter randomized trial comparing early aggressive versus initially conservative therapy in patients older than 74 years with acute coronary syndrome without persistent ST-segment elevation (NSTEACS). Approximately 700 patients will be enrolled at approximately 57 sites across the country.
